One of two concrete plants under construction in Forsyth is up and running.
Reames Concrete of Valdosta has finished its plant in the Hwy. 18 industrial park.
“We just want everyone to know how excited we are to be in Forsyth,” said Trey Odom, vice president of Reames. “We operate in a lot of markets and Monroe County has really rolled out the red carpet for us.”
The Forsyth facility becomes Reames’ 15th concrete plant, and the northern-most in its company as it expands from its base near the Florida line to Atlanta. Odom said with Bibb County growing to the north and Henry County growing toward the south, it’s the perfect place for the company.
Reames was started in Valdosta in 1978. Odom said Reames sells concrete for every kind of project from a dog pen to a high rise.
“We do all of it,” said Odom. “We’re looking forward to growing our business here.”
The Reames plant in Forsyth will have about five employees with Mitchell Helms as the interim manager. Anyone who wants to buy concrete for a residential job can call Steve Robinson at 478-214-0021 or for commercial call Greg Williams at 478-955-7565.
