The internationally-acclaimed Australian performance group The TEN Tenors will make Forsyth a stop on its 2017 “Home for the Holidays” Christmas Tour this December.
The TEN Tenors will appear at the new Monroe County Fine Arts Center on Friday, Dec. 15. The stop will be one of 17 concerts across nine states. This year’s Christmas tour marks the 20th anniversary of The TEN Tenors. The Fine Arts Center is the exclusive Georgia venue hosting the group this year.
Tickets will go on sale Sept. 15 at www.ticketalternative.com, or through the BOE office.
In addition to providing a night of holiday entertainment to local and area music patrons, The TEN Tenors will offer choral students at Mary Persons the opportunity to meet and interact with the performers. A student workshop will be held during the afternoon before the show. Additionally, MP students have been invited to take part in the The TEN Tenors concert. The MP Chorus will perform as an opening act for the world-renowned vocal group.
The TEN Tenors say their holiday performance includes a generous mix of festive favorites and holiday hits, as well as many rock and classic songs that have made the group world famous. They have toured the U.S. every year since 2004.
“The cluster of high voices generates pure electricity and undeniable drama,” wrote a Los Angeles Times review.
The TEN Tenors started 20 years ago as a group of college chums wanting to earn extra pocket money while they perfected their craft at opera school. None imagined that their idea would become popular for so long.
“The presentation of today’s shows has come a long way since those university days,” says the group’s promotional flyer, “but the core values remain the same with Aussie charm and an undeniable sense of good fun.”
