Mr. and Mrs. Jeff M. Wilson of Forsyth will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Thursday, May 19. Jeff M.Wilson and Mildred M. Meeks were married at the little Baptist Church on the hill at Forsyth Mill Village on May 19, 1956. The groom’s nephew, Rev. Henry Vaughn, performed the ceremony, and the Wilsons were the first couple he had married. Several family members told them their marriage wouldn’t last.
“God has blessed us with 60 years and with families, friends and our church,” said Mildred. “God is so good. We are truly so blessed and thankful.”
The Wilsons have one child, Wendy Howell, and one granddaughter, Elizabeth. The couple attend church at an Apostolic Pentecostal Holiness Church in Thomation now where Rev. James King is pastor, and they love their pastor and church family.
