The partnership between Circle of Care, Middle Georgia Community Food Bank, Monroe County Ministerial Association, Christ United Methodist Church and multiple volunteers continues to provide food boxes monthly for those in need. The distribution on Sept. 9 served at least 200 families.

Assistance from members of the Georgia National Guard helped the sorting and loading of the food go smoothly. It was a contactless, drive-through distribution, with volunteers placing food boxes in car trunks of truck beds as recipients drove through Christ UMC parking lot.

The monthly food distribution is at 11 a.m. on second Wednesdays.

The picture taken by Matthew Bishop, pastor of Maynard Baptist Church, with his drone gives a good overview of cars lined up for the distribution. Also pictured are local volunteers and members of the Georgia National Guard working together. (Information provided by Chris Fuller, pastor of Russellville Baptist Church).
