Monroe County deputies were investigating what they thought was a fatal auto accident on Hwy. 74 on Saturday when they determined the driver had shot herself in the head before wrecking.
Kendra Hill, 34, of Pine Grove Church Road, Culloden, was found dead inside her 2017 Dodge Ram with a gunshot wound to the head, said sheriff’s spokesman Anna Lewis. The truck was found wrecked off Hwy. 74 near its intersection with Oxford Road on Saturday afternoon. Hill was apparently heading east toward Macon when she left the roadway and struck a tree in a field. As deputies investigated they found she had a bullet wound to her head and found a pistol in the vehicle.
Her husband told deputies she was detoxing from alcohol and had not been doing well, said Lewis.
