RHODES

RHODES

A Monroe County Jail inmate left naked and bloodied during a fight on Aug. 28 had to be hospitalized.

According to the sheriff’s report, deputy Anthony Thompson saw two inmates, Paris Thompson, 27, of Griffin and Brain McCullers of Forsyth arguing on the top walkway area. Inmate Thompson returned to his cell and grabbed a cupful of an unknown liquid and poured it over the railing onto McCullers below. McCullers returned to his cell and inmate Jordan Rhodes, 27, of Forsyth began to argue with Thompson. Rhodes removed the top half of his jumpsuit and went upstairs where the two began to argue outside a cell and Thompson punched Rhodes in the face. They then moved the fight into the cell. As Thompson and deputy Becelia responded to the brawl, Paris Thompson was dragging Rhodes and ripping off his jumpsuit and underwear. As Rhodes was lying defenseless and naked on the ground, he was punched again in the face.  Deputy Thompson grabbed Paris Thompson and while doing so, Rhodes was kicked twice more. Rhodes was bleeding heavily from his head and appeared to be out of it, swaying back and forth and very unsteady on his feet. The deputies dressed him and removed him from Bravo Block. He was held in a cell until an ambulance arrived and he was taken to the hospital for his injuries. Thompson has been in jail since May on obstruction and battery charges. McCullers has been in jail since June on drug and weapons charges. Rhodes has been in jail since April on assault charges.
