Family and friends will celebrate the 100th birthday of Ms. Annie Lassie Hansford of Forsyth on Wednesday, July 1 with a parade in front of her Hwy. 83 home. The parade will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. starting at Straight Street at Hwy. 83.

Hansford was born on July 1, 1920 in Forsyth to the late Monroe and Molly Watts.  Annie is one of nine siblings. She and her loving brother John Thomas Watts are the only surviving siblings.

Hansford married the late Lee Hansford. They raised 10 wonderful children and she is the proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother of four generations.

Hansford is a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church of Forsyth.  She served on the Missionary, Usher and Mother’s Board.  Although she doesn’t attend church as often as she once had, she is loved by all members and is a devoted Christian who loves to read her Bible and quote scriptures.

Hansford worked for Tift College for many years until she retired.  She is a proud member of the Eastern Star Organization.  She has a passion for cooking and baking and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
