A Forsyth woman is charged with striking her girlfriend with a metal pipe after she accused her of sleeping with a man.
Shaquille Hicks, 27, of Union Hill Apartments, was charged with aggravated assault (family violence) against her roommate, Shameka Johnson, on Friday, June 12.
Johnson called police around 1 p.m. to report that Hicks had come home and beat her. Forsyth officer Jeremy Malone found Johnson bleeding from her lip and leg with marks on her arm and hip. Hicks said she had come home, seen an unknown man knocking on the door across from their apartment and accused Johnson of sleeping with the man.
Hicks said that Johnson was naked from getting out of the shower and that she stuck her hand between Johnson’s legs to see if it smelled like “a rubber” to confirm her suspicions. Hicks said they then began arguing and got into a mere tussle over a metal pipe. But Johnson said Hicks grabbed the pipe and began beating her with it. Johnson said she wanted to get away from Hicks but didn’t want to leave the apartment because she had no clothes on. Seeing all her injuries and that they lived together, Malone charged Hicks with aggravated assault under the family violence act and took her to Monroe County Jail.
