A Minnesota motorcyclist admitted he was distracted looking at another wreck on the shoulder of I-75 when he plowed into the back of another vehicle, requiring him to be hospitalized on Saturday, May 25. Kelly Watkins of Owatonna, Minn. was traveling I-75 south near the rest area around 5:21 p.m. on his 2007 Suzuki motorcycle when he spotted the wreck on the shoulder. He said when he looked back at the roadway the 2011 Toyota Camry in front of him had slowed down and he struck the back of it, severely damaging the motorcycle. The driver of the Camry, Zachary Burrell of Warner Robins, was not injured. Watkins was taken by Monroe County EMS to Navicent Health in Macon. Monroe County deputy Jake Justice didn’t write any citations but did note that Watkins was following too closely and distracted from the road.
