Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce is taking nominations for its 2020 Community Awards in five categories. Nominations are due by Thursday, Jan. 21; winners will be announced on Friday, Feb. 5. The prestigious awards recognize the individuals and businesses that make Forsyth and Monroe County a better place to live, work and play.

The Citizen of the Year Award honors a Monroe County Citizen who exemplifies good citizenship through civic activities, business involvement, contributions to the community and leadership.

The Small Business of the Year Award recognizes a business that has demonstrated exemplary “Best Practices” and demonstrated the important role small businesses play in local economy.

The Golden Nail Award honors a business or organization whose efforts in design, restoration, renovation and beautification enhance and improve the community in general and the commercial areas in particular.

The Customer Service Award goes to a front-line employee in the hospitality industry who exceeds normal expectations to provide excellent service to Forsyth and Monroe County visitors and residents, representing his or her employer and Monroe County as an ambassador of outstanding service.

The Volunteer of the Year recognizes a person or organization whose efforts have made the Chamber a more prosperous organization, fostered membership growth and improved membership services.
