Five years ago, I was getting ready to start my first day of ninth grade at Mary Persons High School after spending six years in Tifton, which I had called “home.” Five years later, Forsyth is “home” and where I return to after a long semester away at college. I’m currently a sophomore at Georgia Southern University majoring in Public Relations. I was so excited to return home for Christmas break along with every other college student. However, I find myself pretty lucky to be able to come home to a town like Forsyth: a town where the community comes together in a time of sorrow, like the loss of a member in local law enforcement: but also in a time of support like the gaining of a new business: Wild and Rooted Hair Co. Forsyth is a town where everybody knows everybody and if you don’t know someone, give it a little while and you will. That is the best part of Forsyth; you’ll never meet a stranger. Most everyone you come in contact with are kind and always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.
