The Mary Persons JV girls soccer team improved to 5-2-1 after beating Griffin 6-0 on March 22.

 The girls beat ACE 2-1 on Thursday, March 11. Sophomore Mya Rutherford and freshman Emily Grant scored goals for the Lady Dogs to get the win. Grant leads the team with four goals on the year. It was Rutherford’s second goal of the year.

On March 1, MP beat Spalding 1-0 as 8th grader Sydney Kime score the winning goal.

On Feb. 25 the JV girls lost to Union Grove 2-1. Grant had the lone Lady Dog goal.

On Feb. 11 the girls fel to Spalding 2-1 in penalty kicks. Grant scored in regulation leaving the teams tied 1-1 when time expired. In penalty kicks, MP lost 5-4 as Emma Phelan, Riley Dunn and Kime made their PKs.

On Feb. 8 the Lady Dogs throttled Griffin 8-1, their biggest margin of the season so far. Landers had two goals, while Dunn, senior Gracie Martin, Grant and Ella Hoover all scored.

On Feb. 4 MP opened the season by beating Ace 2-1. Freshman Jessica Goodwin and Rutherford scored for the victorious Lady Dogs.

The JV girls are 5-2-1 after Jackson forfeited a game scheduled for Monday, March 15. The girls will finish the regular season at Pike County (March 24) and at Veterans (March 25) and will compete in a JV tournament in early April.
