The Monroe County Middle School Baseball ran its record to 10-0 by cruising to two easy wins over Byron Middle on Monday. Wiley Smith picked up the win in game 1. He also hit two homeruns, including a grand slam in the 9-2 victory. 8th grader Cayden Taylor pitched the dogs to a 8-2 win in game 2. Smith and Drew Mixon both homered for the Dogs. 

Things were not as easy on Saturday however, as the Bulldogs hosted rival Gray Station for a double header. Tristan Hunt started game 1 and got off to a rocky start, allowing a run in the first. The Bulldogs answered with 2 of their own in the bottom of the 1st to take a 2-1 lead.  The teams played a game of attrition for the rest of the game with the Bulldogs pulling out a hard fought 5-4 victory. 

Game 2 was much the same with Cole Carr on the mound. The Hounds jumped out to a 3-0 lead early. The Bulldogs would not go quietly however. The Bulldogs clawed their way back to a 4-3 lead only to allow Gray to tie the game in the 5th inning. The Bulldogs were able to take advantage of some Gray miscues in the 6th and scored 3 runs to pull out a 7-4 victory. Nic Arnold got the save in both games. 

The Bulldogs played Henderson Middle School in a double header on Friday March 19 and picked up wins in both games. Shivan Patel got the win on the mound in Game 1. The final score was 6-1. Cole Carr picked up the win in the Game two 17-7 win. On Monday March 22nd, the Bulldogs defeated Lamar County by a score of 4-1. Tristan Hunt got the win on the mound. The Bulldogs struggled all day with the Trojan pitching. However, after the Bulldogs tied the game at one in the 4th, catcher Ayden Ussery reached on an error. The next batter, Nick Howard hit a blast over the right fielders head allowing pinch runner Camden Pippin to score from first.The Dogs added two more runs in the inning on singles by Cayden Taylor and Nic Arnold. The 7th grade team also beat Lamar 4-1. Aiden Morrow and Bradley Acosta combined to no-hit the Trojans.
