Mary Persons tennis teams played two region opponents this week against Jackson and Peach County. The girls team won both matches to improve to 5-0 in the region while the boys were only able to pick up one win against Peach County taking their overall record to 3-8.

The girls team obliterated Jackson High picking up wins in all 5 matches on the day and only gave up 4 points total in 10 sets. The girls found more success a few days later defeating Peach County in all 5 matches. Once again, they only conceded 5 points total through all 5 matches.

The boys had a tough time against Jackson but kept the matches close. #1 singles player Jackson Gray won his match after a thrilling tie-breaker that finished 11-9. Gavin Parker and Jackson Campbell also won their doubles match but the two wins weren’t enough to take the team win. The boys stepped up and picked up a team win against Peach County later in the week after winning 4 out of 5 matches.

The tennis teams have two more matches this week facing Americus-Sumter and Jones County.
