To the Editor:

As the city budgets for expenditures, I highly recommend placing the repaving and, possibly, the widening, of Montpelior Road at the top of their budget. In addition to the residents that live along this pot-holed and patched road, all county vehicles use this road to fuel up. School buses travel this road regularly for the High School as well as the Middle School and TG Scott Elementary. Not only do drivers on this road have to maneuver the patches and potholes, but when it rains, the ditches are not cut to allow the runoff water to remain off the road. Instead, in several places, the water flows openly across the road creating a further driving hazard. When the rains abide, residents are left with unsightly dirt and debris to contend with.
